PL LTO and Marketing Banners

Earlier versions of the Progressive Leasing plug-in for Magento 2 came without an integrated LTO and marketing assets functionality. This required merchants to separately reference custom JS scripts and banner configuration instructions to leverage Progressive Leasing’s professionally designed LTO banners and in-site marketing images. With the latest release of the plug-in, selecting and using Progressive Leasing’s lease-to-own product tags and marketing collateral is possible from within the point-and-click configuration interface native to Magento 2 – no custom scripting required. Additionally, merchants will now be able to preview how a banner looks -- from directly within the Magento 2 admin console -- before adding it to their site.

LTO Hangtag

Earlier versions of the plug-in did not have built-in links to the Lease Payment Estimator and LTO Hangtag. This required merchants to write custom code that could call and/or work with a custom JS snippet provided by Progressive Leasing. In this latest release, merchants can set up links to direct customers to a built-in payment estimation widget. This widget automatically applies to leasable products only and will display the LTO Hangtag that responds (and updates) dynamically to user-provided inputs.

Lease Payment Estimator

The Payment Estimator module (synonymous with the widget listed in the “LTO Hangtag” section above), which was initially released in version 2.0.0 of the plug-in, allows for customers to see a lease payment estimate (not guaranteed to be exact) based on a few quick inputs: state of residence, total retail price of items in cart, and paycheck frequency. This module is accessible before application and allows customers to get a sense of what their LTO payments would be before they provide more personal information that is required to be collected in the formal application process. With the latest release of the plug-in, the Lease Payment Estimator includes enhancements to highlight more clearly the state of residence input requirement, to limit state of residence inputs to those in scope for the specific merchant, and to clarify the payment estimate output language. This version also includes a reminder to customers to choose Progressive Leasing as the payment method during checkout.

Application for LTO Approval

Although all prior releases of the Progressive Leasing plug-in for Magento 2 included some type of application flow, this latest release of the plug-in is the first to leverage the Approve.Me version of the application flow. This application flow offers multiple advantages over prior versions, specifically:

  • Omni-channel resume capability
    • Applications started online may be resumed in-store, provided the customer’s name and SSN combination match in both instances
    • Applications started in-store using the Approve.Me application flow may be resumed online via the merchant’s Magento 2 marketplace, provided the customer’s name and SSN combination match in both instances
  • No multi-tab redirects
    • The entire application flow renders from within an iFrame that is launched within the same window as the merchant’s Magento 2 marketplace site
  • Consistent Progressive Leasing-branded application experience
    • Consistent language and feel within the flow to minimize customer distraction and maximize trust in the process itself

Terms & Conditions Display

Links to terms and conditions – both for new LTO applications and for LTO contract completion – are provided in accordance with relevant regulatory and internal compliance requirements. Customers are prompted to acknowledge and accept these terms and conditions before they are prompted to agree to lease costs and subsequently execute the LTO contract.

Build Cart

Customers will maintain the ability to add leasable items to their checkout carts. Merchants retain the ability to determine product/item leasability. LTO payment options at checkout will adjust accordingly (based on merchant’s flagging of which products are or are not leasable) once the checkout process is initiated.

Submit Invoice

As with the last version of the plug-in, invoice submission is fully supported.

Actual Lease Cost Calculation

As with the last version of the plug-in, actual lease costs are displayed during the E-Sign portion of the customer experience (i.e., during the pre-agreement review of terms, conditions, and costs). With this release of the plug-in, the actual lease cost will now be visible to customers on the merchant’s Magento 2 order confirmation page as well.

Agreement to Lease Costs

As with the last version of the plug-in, customers will be given the opportunity to review actual lease costs before electing to agree to them or not. As in prior plug-in versions, this functionality is present during the E-Sign portion of the customer experience (i.e., during the pre-agreement review of terms, conditions, and costs). Only if the customer agrees to the actual lease costs will they be directed to the DocuSign portion of the customer experience (i.e., the formal contract terms and LTO agreement signing).

Order Confirmation

This latest release of the plug-in offers two primary enhancements to the order confirmation page (i.e., order success page), both of which will reduce the likelihood of customer confusion:

  • Payment method summary will indicate to the customer that the product was purchased using Pay with Progressive
  • An actual LTO cost will be displayed to the customer

Merchant Delivery Date Setting (Merchant Admin Feature)

In this release version, Progressive Leasing is introducing on the merchant’s Order Details page the capability to submit a delivery date, provided the date selected is within the range of acceptable delivery timeframes as prescribed by Progressive Leasing.

Reconciliation Support (Merchant Admin Feature)

With this version of the plug-in, Progressive Leasing is introducing on the merchant’s Magento 2 Invoice List page a modal information pane with specific instructions on how to contact Progressive Leasing’s Merchant Support team for questions related to reconciliation.

Order Returns Handling (Merchant Admin Feature)

In this release version, Progressive Leasing is introducing on the merchant’s Magento 2 Order Details page the capability to submit monetary sub-total (up to -- but not to exceed – the total amount of the original invoice) for a subset or the entirety of an order. This functionality will only work in states where regulations permit it. Merchants will have to determine sales tax refund amounts manually since state and local regulations vary widely. This capability will only be enabled for orders currently in a status for which returns are permitted.

Order Cancellation Handling (Merchant Admin Feature)

In this release version, Progressive Leasing is introducing on the merchant’s Magento 2 Order Details page the capability to trigger a lease cancellation, provided the cancellation is triggered within a specific time frame from the date of original order confirmation.

Warranty Handling

With this version of the plug-in, Progressive Leasing is introducing the ability to define warranties as leasable products. This new capability will enable customers to add a warranty for a product and add it to their cart before checking out with a Progressive Leasing payment method (some conditions apply).

Restricted Shipping States

In this release version, the plug-in will inform customers and intervene before they initiate a lease-to-own application if there are any legal restrictions on leasing products and/or warranties that will ship to the customer's shipping address state. This will alleviate confusion for customers and reduce total time-to-purchase.

Custom Minimum Cart Amount

In this release version, Progressive Leasing improves the merchant experience by allowing merchants to define a minimum cart amount required for a customer to proceed with the Progressive Leasing payment method.
